Jordan was one of the BEST trips our family has taken. We wandered amman, petra and aqaba. The unique thing about Jordan: it's QUITE western. Prepare yourself for Wendy's, Papa John's, and the GAP! I was surprised how western this tiny country was. The suq and downtown, however, felt extremely middle eastern. Lots of unique goods, shops and handmade goods there.

We stayed in both Amman and Aqaba. Try the Kempinski in Aqaba. The private beach there on the red sea is stunning and the restaurant is phenomenal. In Aqaba, you can easily walk over to Israel through the pedestrian gate.
